How We Work

From the first call to the third year

The whole process, written down — what happens at each stage, how long each one holds you up, and the two points where we need something from you before anything can move.

The shape of it

Five stages. Only two of them need much from you.

Most of this runs in the background. The two that don’t — agreeing the garment set and getting sizes off the team — are the two worth doing slowly, because everything after them is a consequence of getting them right.

01

The conversation

What we need from you: roughly who wears what

A call, not a form. How many people, in which roles, in how many sites, and what is going wrong with the current arrangement. If a general workwear supplier or an online seller is the better answer for your situation, this is the stage where we say so.

02

The garment set

What we need from you: a decision, and a logo file

We put up a shortlist against your roles — style, fabric, colour split, what a new starter gets on day one — and you decide. Samples go out where a decision hangs on how something feels rather than how it looks. Your logo is digitised and test-stitched in parallel, so artwork is never the thing holding up an order.

03

The fit kit

What we need from you: about a week of the team's attention

A sample set goes to each site and stays long enough for every shift to see it. Everyone picks their own size on their own body. Those choices are recorded against your account, which is what makes every reorder afterwards a two-minute job instead of another round of measuring.

04

The run

What we need from you: nothing

Garments are picked, embroidered and checked in our own facility, then packed the way you asked for them — by site, by role, or by person with names on the bags. You get dated timings before the run starts, and you hear from us if any of them move.

05

The years after

What we need from you: a name when someone starts

New starters are ordered against sizes already held. Reorders run from the same stitch file, so year-three garments sit alongside year-one garments. Once a year we go back over sizes, spend and what’s actually wearing out, and tell you if something in the set should change.

The two stages that decide the rest

Almost every uniform problem we’re called about traces back to a skipped fit kit or a garment set agreed by one person on behalf of forty. Both are free to do properly and expensive to redo, so we’d rather add a fortnight at the start than replace a box of embroidered tops at the end.

Who you deal with

One account contact, and the people who actually make the garments

Who you deal with

A person who knows your account, not a queue.

Uniforms are a small line in your budget and a recurring problem in your week. What makes that bearable is not having to re-explain the situation to a different person every time.

01

One named contact

The same person for quotes, orders, sizing questions and the awkward calls. They know how many sites you have and what your colour split is without being told again.

02

The embroidery team, in the same building

When a placement question comes up it’s answered by the people running the machines, not relayed to a contractor and back.

03

Whoever is closest to the answer

If your contact is away, the person who picks up can see your account, your sizes and your last order — because all of it sits in one place rather than in an inbox.

04

Escalation without a process

If something is going wrong badly enough, you should be talking to someone who can simply decide. We’re a forty-year-old family business, so that person is not far away.

What we commit to

The parts you're allowed to hold us to.

Not a service charter with a logo on it — a short list of things that either happen or don’t, and that you can check us against on your own order.

Timings before you commit

Every quote carries dated timings for your specific order — digitising, fit kit, run, dispatch. If one of them moves, you hear it from us before it becomes your problem.

Our mistakes, our cost

Wrong placement, wrong thread colour, wrong garment against the order: it comes back to us, gets re-run and doesn’t appear on an invoice.

Sizes kept, not re-asked

Once someone has picked a size it stays on your account. You should never be asked to re-measure a team you already measured.

No minimum you didn't agree

Reorders are placed for the number of people who need garments, including one. Minimums, where a style carries one, are stated at quote rather than discovered later.

Your artwork stays yours

The stitch file we build from your logo is held for your account and released to you on request. It isn’t leverage to keep you here.

An honest no

If a deadline can’t be met, or a garment won’t do what you need, we’d rather say it on the call than take the order and manage the disappointment afterwards.

If you already have a supplier

Nobody has to be short of uniforms while you change.

The reason most teams stay with a supplier they’ve stopped liking is the changeover, not the garments. So we don’t do changeovers — we do a handover, one role at a time, while your existing stock keeps working.

Your logo digitised while current stock is still in use

First run covers only what needs replacing now

One role, or one site, moves at a time

Old and new stock allowed to overlap on the floor

Sizes captured once, before anything is stitched

No contract, and no exit to negotiate

Once the first order lands

What the relationship looks like when nothing is going wrong.

This is the part nobody asks about at quote stage and everybody lives with afterwards. It should be almost invisible.

A new starter

Their size is chosen from the fit kit record or the nearest match, ordered against your account, and sent to the site they’re working at.

A replacement

Worn-out garments are reordered by name and size in a couple of minutes. Same style, same stitch file, so it doesn’t read as a patch.

A change of role

Someone moving between roles moves colour with them, without re-measuring or a fresh minimum order.

An annual look back

Once a year we go through sizes, spend and what’s wearing out, and tell you plainly if part of the set should change.

The point of all of it: an ordinary shift, every role in the agreed set, and nobody thinking about uniforms.

Good to know

The process questions we get asked.

Long enough to do the fit kit properly, which is the stage worth waiting for. Digitising and the garment shortlist run in parallel, the fit kit sets the pace, and the run follows it. You get dated timings for your own order at quote, not an average.

No, but we’ll push for it. Ordering embroidered garments off a size chart is the single most common way a first order goes wrong, and it’s the one mistake that can’t be undone once a logo is stitched.

No. Nothing here locks you in, including the artwork — your stitch file is released to you on request. The reorder rate is meant to be earned each time rather than signed for once.

That’s usually the sensible way to do it. One site, one role, or one shift proves the garment set and the sizing before a group-wide decision gets made on your behalf.

Whoever you nominate. Approvals, budgets and allowances are set per site, so a manager can order within their limit and anything above it comes to you first.

You tell us, we release your stitch file and your size records, and that’s the process. A supplier that’s hard to leave is a supplier you’ll leave eventually.
