Uniform Programs

New employees, in uniform from day one

A defined starter pack, the right sizes and your embroidery standard already saved — so onboarding someone new isn’t a fresh uniform decision every time.

Why it matters

A new starter’s first day is the one you can plan for.

Everything else about onboarding is uncertain — who they are, when they start, how quickly they settle. The uniform is the part you can have ready before they walk in, and it is usually the first thing that signals whether an organisation is organised.

Without a defined pack, the same conversation runs every time: what do they wear, which sizes, does it need a name, who approves it, and how quickly can it arrive. A starter pack answers all of that once.

The starter pack

Decide once what a new starter receives.

A starter pack is simply your answer to “what does someone in this role wear?”, agreed in advance and held against your program. When a new employee joins, the pack is assigned rather than assembled.

Packs can differ by role and by site, so a receptionist and a clinician are not sent the same thing, and a regional location can carry what it actually needs

Sizing

The part that most often delays a first day.

A pack can be defined perfectly and still arrive wrong if the sizes are guessed. How sizing is handled depends on how much notice you have and how your team prefers to work.

Staff choose their own

The new employee selects their size when the pack is ordered, with fit guidance available.

Manager assigns

A manager sets the sizes on the employee’s behalf where that is simpler.

Held on file

Sizes recorded against the employee so replacements and later orders match.

Adjusted after issue

If something does not fit, the record is updated so the next order is right.

Branding

The new starter looks like everyone else.

A uniform that arrives quickly but doesn’t match is only half a solution. The most visible sign of a program that has drifted is a newer employee whose logo sits differently, or whose garment is a slightly different colour from the rest of the team.

Because your artwork and embroidery setup are already saved against your program, a starter pack is decorated to the same standard as the garments issued to everyone before them.

After day one

Onboarding doesn’t end when the pack arrives.

Garments wear, roles change and sizes change. The value of setting a starter pack up properly is that everything afterwards inherits it — a replacement is a repeat rather than a new specification.

The second order should be easier than the first.

The employee’s garments, sizes and embroidery are already recorded, so replacing one item does not mean re-establishing what they wear.

Where a staff ordering portal is used, the employee can handle replacements themselves inside the rules you have set, rather than routing every request through a manager.

Across sites

Every location onboards the same way.

In a group, onboarding is usually where consistency slips first — not because anyone intends it, but because each site solves the problem locally when someone starts at short notice.

Defining packs centrally means a new employee at any location receives the same standard of uniform, whether they are the fiftieth starter or the first that site has onboarded this year.

Onboarding FAQs

A defined set of garments for a role, agreed in advance and held against your uniform program, so a new employee can be kitted out without re-deciding what they wear each time.

Yes. Packs are usually defined by role, and can differ by site as well where locations genuinely need different garments.

Either the employee selects their own size when the pack is ordered, or a manager assigns it on their behalf. Sizes are then recorded so later orders match.

Yes. Your artwork and embroidery setup are saved against your program, so a starter pack is decorated to the same standard as garments issued previously.

Yes, where your program uses name embroidery. The name is applied to the same standard as the rest of the team.

The size record is updated so the replacement and any future orders are right, rather than the same issue recurring.

Whoever you decide. Access, approvals and allowances are set as rules for your organisation, and they apply to starter packs the same as any other order.

Yes. A single practice hiring occasionally benefits from a defined pack for the same reason a large group does — the decision is made once rather than every time.
